The Beautiful Island of Anglesey

Anglesey is an ideal holiday destination. It boasts beautiful beaches and offers many opportunities for walkers and hikers. There are stunning coastal walks and easy access to the mountains of Snowdonia and the famous Ffestiniog Railway.

There are numerous attractions in the area. You can experience the rich history of the Island by visiting some of the ancient monuments and archaeological sites. If you have children you may prefer the Sea, Zoo, Butterfly Sanctuary or ‘ Electric Mountain’; these are just examples of the many things to do. There are also several National Trust properties to visit.

Bangor city is a short drive over the famous Menai Suspension Bridge, which in itself provides breathtaking views. In Bangor there is a theatre, cinema and high street shopping, as well the beautiful ancient Cathedral and many bars and restaurants.

 

The Views

Views from the Apartment
Benllech bay stretches for miles inviting you for a brisk stroll. At low tide it is possible to walk round the coast to Red Wharf Bay, a lovely setting where you can enjoy good food at one of the two waterside restaurants. If you are feeling lazy you can watch others take the exercise while you relax and enjoy the view. The mountains look different every day depending on the weather; sunset over snowdonia can be quite stunning.

The Beaches

Benllech Beach
Nearby Rhosneiger offers windsurfing opportunities and is a popular location for the up-coming kite surfing sport. If water-sports are not up your street, why not make the short journey to Newborough. The beach is beautiful and the surrounding forest is an ideal setting for walking or picnics. You can also visit the old pilots cottages on Lovers' Island, a short distance from the beach.

There are other award winning beaches within a few minutes drive. Some allow boat and jet ski launch.

The Pubs

Ship Inn Pub & Restaurant
There are many pubs and restaurants in the area often serving local seafood. Pictured is the world famous Ship Inn with sea views. It is a 30 minute walk or 5 minutes drive from the apartment.
Benllech also offers a Chinese restaurant, Indian take away and a chip shop.

If you like to venture further a field you can try some of the restaurants or cafe bars in the nearby city of Bangor, a short drive over the Menai suspension bridge.

The Property

The Property
Apartment 18 is on the first floor. There are french doors in the living area giving you lots of light and making full advantage of the wonderful view. On a hot day they provide a lovely breeze through the apartment keeping you cool and enabling you to take in the fresh sea air.

Ideally situated at the edge of Benllech village which is a 5 minute walk from the beautiful beach. It takes one hour from Chester and two hours from Manchester.
